COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Check in the Fall and Spring for Cosumnes River College representative visitations. Research programs and majors at the community college.
- Explore the local community college website at Los Rios Community College District
- Explore other community colleges in California at California Community Colleges
- If you plan to transfer to a four year university after two or more years at community college visit ASSIST - Transfer Information System
In the spring of your senior year:
- Apply for enrollment at Los Rios Community College District
- Take the placement tests for Math and English
- Complete Online College Orientation
- Meet with a community college counselor
- Register for classes and pay fees
CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY (CSU)
- Check weekly: University Preview Days and College Visitation Schedules. Check the College & Career Center calendar.
- Complete your testing requirement for admission. To learn more about which test you should take, visit CSU Mentor.
- Register for the SAT or the ACT - Remember to select 4 colleges to send your score to prior to testing (free).
Note: Some CSU’s require testing be completed by November of your Senior year. Check specific college websites for deadlines.
- Send all SAT scores to CSU Mentor and they will be sent to all CSU campuses, use code 3594
- Send all ACT scores to one CSU on ACT, then to go to CSU Mentor, ACT Scores Manager
- Apply to CSU campuses between October 1 - November 30, 2015
- Prepare for the Entry Level Math (ELM), English Placement Test (EPT) and find EAP scores at Prepare for CSU Assessment Tests

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA (UC)
- Check weekly: University Preview Days and College Visitation Schedules. Check the College & Career Center calendar.
- Complete your testing requirement for admission. To learn more about which test(s) you should take, visit UC Admissions.
- Register for the SAT or the ACT- Remember to select 4 colleges to send your score to prior to testing (free).
- Go to College & Career Center for information on important test dates.
- Send scores to only one UC from either College Board or ACT.
- On the UC application in the “Review and Submit” section check the box that allows the UC to share scores.
- Begin writing your Personal Statement.
- Application to UC must be submitted during November 1-30, 2015.

MILITARY OPTIONS
ASVAB
The ASVAB was developed by the U.S. Department of Defense. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program was developed with input from a panel of career development experts and designed to encourage students to increase their level of self-knowledge and to understand how that information could be linked to civilian and military occupational characteristics.
The ASVAB Program recently was re-designed to be helpful to virtually all students, whether they are planning on immediate employment after high school in civilian or military occupations, or further education at a university, community college, or vocational institution.

Concurrent Admissions Program (ConAP)
ConAP is a unique partnership between the Army Recruiting Command and more than 1,950 participating colleges who are members of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC). SOC assists with implementation and management of the program and serves as a liaison between Army recruiters, ConAP colleges, Army Education Centers, and the higher education community. ConAP goals are to increase enlistment of college-capable individuals into both the active duty and reserves forces; increase the number of Army Soldiers, Reserve Soldiers, and veterans enrolled in college; and increase the use of the GI Bill education benefits.
